Ally Lewber announced separation from James Kennedy following domestic violence arrest

Ally Lewber and James Kennedy have split up
Split alert! Ally Lewber has confirmed her split from James Kennedy following his arrest in December 2024 on domestic violence charges.
Despite the arrest, James’ attorney, Scott Leemon, announced that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office decided not to file any charges against him.
In a press release dated January 22, Leemon expressed gratitude for the thorough review of the case. He said,
“I was just informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy. I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter, involving my client.”
On the same day, Ally announced her separation from James on her Instagram Stories, sharing her relief that prosecutors decided not to file charges against him.
She explained that the incident happened during an argument about his drinking but acknowledged that he did not physically harm her.
The Vanderpump Rules star expressed her gratitude for the support she received, stating,
“Thank you for all your support and kindness. I am happy that proseprosecutors decided not to file against James as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt.”
Lewber also admitted that the headlines “shocked” her and that she felt “disheartened” by the portrayal of the event.
She then concluded the statement by expressing her continued support for Kennedy’s journey toward sobriety and healing. The reality TV star wrote,
“We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing. Thank you for your understanding,”
The couple’s breakup was expected because Ally was seen moving her belongings out of James’ home shortly before the announcement.
Despite the split, a source revealed that Kennedy told friends “they were just taking a break” and were still in communication.
However, the insider noted that everyone around them believes they are finished and unlikely to reconcile.
Ally Lewber and James Kennedy: Relationship Timeline
James Kennedy and Ally Lewber began their relationship in January 2022, just six weeks after Kennedy ended his engagement to his Vanderpump Rules castmate Raquel Leviss.
They first met at a concert for Tom Sandoval’s band, The Most Extras, and Ally was already familiar with James from the reality show.
During the season 10 reunion, she shared that she had watched Vanderpump Rules during the COVID pandemic.

The couple moved in together in June 2023 and also shared two cats along with Kennedy’s dog, Hippie, previously named Graham.
What led to James Kennedy’s arrest?
On December 10, 2023, James Kennedy was arrested at his Los Angeles home after the Burbank Police Department received a call about an argument between him and a woman.
TMZ reported that a witness saw a reality TV star, 32, get physical with a woman, but when the police arrived, they found no injuries.
After the incident, Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. The spokesperson said,
“The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to [Kennedy’s] arrest. [Kennedy] was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.”
However, he has since been released after posting $20,000 bail.
Recently, it has been announced that he would not face any charges because the Burbank City Attorney’s Office found no grounds for prosecution.
One week later, the DJ addressed his situation on Instagram, stating he was focusing on his mental health and making meaningful changes in his life. He wrote,
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
Meanwhile, Lewber made a rare comment about the situation on December 14, 2024. She wrote on her Instagram Story.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me, I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
Previously, fellow Bravo stars Taffi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge claimed they witnessed an incident involving Kennedy and his then-girlfriend, Ally Lewber.
However, Lewber dismissed these allegations on Scheana Shay’s podcast, “Scheananigans.” She said at the time,
“That’s crazy to me that that’s the most asked question [for me]. That makes me really sad, because no, I’m good. That never happened. There was no physical altercation, Yes, we were in the car together. I thought we were having fun. We were having fun. But then James and I did get into an argument, but there was no physical assault. I was not bleeding, and they didn’t have to get out of the car and separate us. So that didn’t happen. That’s all I’ll say on that.”
