Friendly exes! Andrew Parker Bowles attended the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, May 6, to see the crowning ceremony of the new monarch.

Queen Camilla was married to Andrew for 21 years from 1973 to 1995. The former couple also shared two children together a son Tom Parker Bowles, 48, and a daughter Laura Parker Bowles, 45.

The Marchioness of Lansdowne, a close friend of Camilla, recently revealed to The Times that the exes are still “the closest of friends” despite their divorce.

“Everybody loves Andrew. He’s a real charmer. Andrew will ring her up and tell her when she’s got something wrong and she’ll ring him up and say when he’s misbehaving. Through adversity, they’ve kept a really good family ethic. It helps with their children and grandchildren.”

During Saturday’s coronation, the retired British Army officer wore a Charlie Chaplin-inspired black suit with a matching single-breasted waistcoat underneath a white shirt and tie.

He completed the appearance with lined slacks and embroidered military medals on his chest. Similarly, he walked with a cane.

Along with Andrew, his grandchildren, Louis, Gus, Lopes, and Freddy Parker Bowles, were also present there to support Camilla and served as the monarch’s Pages of Honor.

Queen Camilla reportedly chose her grandchildren as her Pages of Honor in order to include as many members of her family as possible in the ceremony. Her close friend, Lady Lansdowne told The Sunday Times,

“She is fiercely loyal to friends and that will be reflected in who goes to the big day. She wants to be loyal to the people who’ve stood by her,”

Andrew also served the same role in 1953 during the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth. While speaking to Dail Mail, Bowles revealed,

“My mother was a good friend of the Duke of Norfolk. The Lord Chancellor had no children, so Bernard Norfolk suggested me to Lord Simonds. I have to say that he was the nicest man alive and gave me a very nice set of cufflinks.”

He recalled a sword fight that broke out during rehearsal,

“All of the pages had these little swords. If a group of bored small boys all have swords, you know what’s going to happen.”

Further, he previously took part in significant royal occasions, including Charles and Camilla’s wedding in 2005, which he attended with his late wife Rosemary Parker Bowles.
