The professional ballerina hinted at their breakup on social media.
The duo dated for almost a decade since their high school days.

It’s over for Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan after almost a decade of dating.

The professional ballerina, 26, subtly confirmed their breakup on Tuesday but did not reveal when or why the two parted ways.

While checking out the new Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, Komyshan revealed that she is currently single. She also described that her single life is very fun.

The talented dancer said that she’s been channeling her time and energy into her work and passions. She explained:

“I’m 26, so right now is the age to push ahead and focus on that — on yourself.”

Violetta and Elgort, 28, dated for nearly ten years after meeting at LaGuardia High School in New York in 2012. The professional also noted that when it comes to her future partner, she is looking for inspiration.

Though Komyshan has revealed her relationship status, the Fault in our Stars actor has not publicly addressed their split as of now. But he caused concern when he was caught kissing a mystery woman on a beach in Italy in August.

Photos showed the Baby Driver actor grabbing the butt of the mysterious woman and then they both took a dip in the water where they made out.

After their moment, another woman, who was definitely not Komyshan- joined the apparent couple at a restaurant for lunch.

Elgort’s 2019 interview about love hinted at his unstable relationship with Komyshan

Violetta surprised fans in September 2021 when she deleted Ansel’s photos from her Instagram account. Sources confirmed that the two were still together but things were very complicated between them.

But Ansel put the breakup rumors to rest when he brought her to the premiere of West Side Story in November 2021.

That was the last time the pair was seen officially on the red carpet.

Elgort starred in the movie alongside Rachel Zegler and the actress had to face lots of criticism from Violetta’s fans relating her friendship with her co-star.

The actress tweeted at the time:

“I’m in love with a bunch of my male friends who I’m not interested in having sex with, so why can’t I put the desire to have sex with women aside and let myself have love with women?”

Then in January, the lovers also spent the dancer’s birthday together.
