Making his first professional debut against OFC Nice, on 31 October 2012, he played other matches like UEFA Europa League and French Ligue 1 debut.

Unfortunately, On December 3, 2016, he went through a firecracker thrown by some spectator at the stand, during a league against FC Metz. Also, he had a terrible collision with French player, Kylian Mbappe throughout the match against SPG.

On 9 February 2011, he played his first under-21 side international against Sweden and had a victory by 3-1. Making his debut for the main squad he played against Cape Verde at the Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota in Estoril.

The following year, national team coach, Fernando Santos selected him for the UEFA Euro 2016 squad. Thereafter, he was named for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Anthony was picked in the preliminary 55-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar in October 2022. Unfortunately, he was cut from the final list.
