Indiana Mom gave birth to the 16-pound baby

Whitney Hallett gave birth to a baby of 16 pounds named Waylon Cole via cesarean section on May 1. At Whitney’s 37-week ultrasound, doctors said they assumed him to be around 12 pounds.

Meanwhile, the proud father of the baby says to US Weekly:

“The doctors and nurses were like, ‘Oh my god!’” the proud dad, Edmond Hallett. We ended up weighing him three times because no one could believe he actually weighed 16 pounds. At first I thought maybe the scale was broken.”

Moreover, after the birth of the baby, Edmond ran out to buy Size 6 to 9-month clothes for his son. Followingly, he said:

“There was no way he was fitting into a newborn outfit!”

Issues in the child

Though he weighs like a month-old baby he has some issues at the beginning. The newborn spent seven weeks in the NICU for breathing and feeding issues. And now he is home with his parents and two sisters.

Edmonds stated:

 “He weighs 17 pounds, 7 ounces. He sleeps a lot more than our other babies did, but he’s healthy. When he’s awake, he’s alert and smiles. He’s a happy boy.”

Followingly, Edmonds also included that  Whitney was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Well! This is the condition that can cause a newborn to grow very big in utero.

Previously, she gave birth to babies who weighs 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and 11 pounds, 1 ounce, and 9 pounds, 14 ounces, respectively.
