He recently finalized his divorce with his fifth wife, Emma Sandell.
Ben has married five times so far.

Ben Folds and Emma Sandell are no longer a married couple. The couple called it quits on their marriage after six years of togetherness.

In December 2023, the couple filed for divorce listing the date of separation as November 20, 2023, according to PEOPLE. Two months after filing, their divorce was finalized on February 27, 2024.

Similarly, Folds was ordered to pay Sandell $475, 000 for any interest she had in the Nashville home, they shared while they were together.

In addition, she received $650,000 in monthly payments of $27,083.33 over 24 months, plus her car insurance for another 12 months.

The court documents read,

“Immediately upon receipt if said funds from husband, wife shall take the necessary steps to execute a quitclaim deed relinquishing all right, title, and interest to the marital home to husband,”

“Ben ordered to pay Sandall $50,000 for furniture, sign over the title to a 2016 Honda CR-V that was initially under his name, and give her $210,000 AUD from a National Australian Bank account,”

On January 20, 2017, the ex-couple tied the knot in Hawaii. Unfortunately, they ended their relationship in divorce.

Ben Folds’s other four failed marriage

Ben has been married five times so far. He was first married to songwriter and childhood best friend Anna Goodman from 1987 to 1992.

The singer shared the reasons for marrying in a 2012 piece published in the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Anna and I felt pressure to do something with our lives. Getting married was the thing you had to do. My mum was barely 20 when she had me – but it’s what you did, We had different ideas on how to live as a couple and be engaged in our work. No one ever explained those differences and how to strike a balance. When we split, both of us found a lot more success in our lives. She is a dear close friend and always will be. Some of the songs on my band Ben Folds Five’s first two albums are collaborations with Anna.”

In 1996, he then married Kate Rosen for a brief time. Three years later, he married his third wife Frally Hynes. The two also shared children twins Gracie and Louie.

However, they split in 2007 and married four wife, Fleur Stanbrook, the same year. Ben and Fleur also split in 2011.
