The podcast host gave some details of the proposal day in an interview with W magazine.

How did Matt Kaplan propose to Alex Cooper?

Alex Cooper is finally having her say on her recent engagement with producer Matt Kaplan. The Call Her Daddy podcaster shared some intimate details on how her fiance planned the big day.

During her recent interview with W magazine which was published on Monday, Alexandra revealed that Cooper took help from her publicist to set up. All the while, Alex thought it was an accompanying photo shoot for the publication’s story.

She recalled,

“I remember the shoot feeling like it had no direction, and I could tell everyone was stalling,”

Cooper said that the plan made her stay “out of the house, out of [her] sweatpants, and in hair, makeup, and nails.”

“When I came home that night, my entire house was covered in candles, lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing,”

The influencer also revealed that the 39-year-old CEO of Ace Entertainment placed mementos and pictures that they have together collected throughout their 3-year-long relationship in every room of their mansion in Studio City, California.

The social media star explained,

“The last clue was a glass of champagne and a card that said, ‘Meet me down by the Buddha,”

The couple felt that it would be a bit of bad luck to remove the 500-pound Buddha statue that the owner before them had erected in their mansion’s courtyard.

Upon following the trial, Cooper found her two little dogs wearing little bow ties.

Matt then “got down on one knee and said, ‘You’re my soulmate, the love of my life. You make me a better man. Please do me the honor of marrying me,’”

Kaplan changed Cooper’s take on marriage

The producer presented her with a huge, vintage 1920s oval-cut diamond ring.

Though her initial reaction was an instant yes, Cooper said that she blacked out during the surprising moment which happened on March 3.

Cooper and the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” film franchise producer first met via a Zoom business call in 2020.

They started dating quickly and also Matt was able to change Cooper’s thoughts on marriage.

She told the publication,

“So many marriages in my life are so unhealthy and unstable. A lot of people settle, and I refuse to do that,”
”But with Matt, it immediately was obvious to me, once our relationship progressed to the point that it was time, that yes, I would love to marry him.”

Cooper also hinted at her relationship with Matt on her podcast by only referring to him as “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man.”
