News of Ledesma’s death was announced on Sunday night, on the day of New Year alongside a touching tribute. On the latest episode of the animated sitcom. An animated version of the music editor in The Simpsons family was shown.

He was sitting on the iconic Simpsons sofa alongside Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and Bart. They were holding up his conductor’s baton. There was a title card in the post-credit tribute reading,

‘In loving memory of Chris Ledesma.’

Moreover, The three children from the Simpsons family joined in with the music. Lisa on her saxophone, Maggie on the tambourine, and lastly Bart on the triangle honored the late editor.

Tributes are pouring into The Simpsons music editor Ledesma

The two-time Emmy nomination for music editor for his contribution to a miniseries or a special on Gypsy and War and Remembrance is deceased. The music editor with over 138 credits to his name is popular for his work in The Simpsons.

Ledesma had been with the show for 33 straight years. Since its first season in 1989, Ledesma contributed to the show. The show completed 700 episodes and 30 seasons but Chris left the show just months before he died.

The colleagues and the show’s new music director Jake Schaefer who replaced Ledesma led tribute Tweeting,

“Chris Ledesma’s passion for music and for @TheSimpsons was an inspiration. I’m grateful for the time I got to spend with him this year. He was a great mentor and a genuine person. My heart goes out to his family.”

In other numerous tweets honoring his mentor, Jake Schaefer also offered condolences to the bereaved family. Ahead of his funeral and memorial services, Jake added

“I’m grateful for the time I got to spend with him this year. He was a great mentor and a genuine person. My heart goes out to his family. Rest In Peace Chris.”

In addition, Producer and director David Silverman upon the death of Ledesma honored the music editor. He said that he was a terrific guy who was terrific at his job.

Meanwhile, Writer Carolyn Omine said a few words about the late editor sharing the tribute card writing,

“Chris Ledesma was a sweet man who loved his job and was really, really good at it. We miss him.”
