Corey Norman is an Australian Professional rugby footballer. He played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL as a five-eighth, halfback, and fullback.

In addition, he played for the Prime minister’s XIII and Queensland in the State of Origin series at the representative level.

He was named Man of the Match and became an eminent one with Brisbane fans after the game ended.

From 2014 to 2018, he played for the Parramatta Eels against the New Zealand Warriors. Fortunately, he was playing at five-eighth and kicking 2 goals in the 36-16 and won at Parramatta Stadium. In round 10, he scored 36-0 for the Eels and win at Parramatta Stadium.

He made an overall 19 appearances for St. George IIIawarra against North Queensland in 2019.

Besides that, in round 10 of the 2020 NRL season, Corey scored the winning try for St. George Illawarra. They conquered Canterbury-Bankstown 28-22 at WIN Stadium.

Apart from that, Corey played altogether 18 games for the club in the 2020 NRL season.

For the 30 years old, Corey and his business partner own a clothing business called YKTR.

Rumors and Controversies

During his sports journey, he was involved in some scandals and controversies.

The point man claimed that Norman and former NRL player James Segeyaro were involved in a fight that occurred in Cronulla. Furthermore, they were acting in self-defense and threatened too.

However, Corey received a breach notice from the NRL. Due to his involvement in a street fight, he has been suspended from two-match. Moreover, for bringing the game into disrepute his sanction is to fulfill a $10,000 fine.

Andrew Abdo, who is the CEO of NRL said that he gave him the opportunity to talk through the video footage and clarify the incident that happened.

He justified the statement that Corey had no other option than to participate in a street fight.

Additionally, he determined that sanctions should be reduced. It is the rule of NRL players that any abuse of players is unacceptable and they will take action.

Later, he was protected from unwarranted abuse.
