Dak Prescott becomes a father for the first time

A family of three! Dak Prescott and his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos have welcomed their first child together.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, 30, confirmed his girlfriend gave birth to a baby girl, whom he called ‘MJ’, on February 29.

At a recent event promoting the Children’s Cancer Fund gala, Prescott gushed about his new bundle of joy. He said,

“I feel different, Especially when you see that baby and you understand the responsibilities. It’s special. Baby’s doing great, mom’s doing great, everybody’s healthy and at home and we’re blessed.”

“When you wake up in the morning and you see that baby, you understand responsiblities. And everything that I’ve always wanted for myself, but you want that for somebody else even more, Yeah, it’s special.”

The baby arrived almost three months after the couple announced their pregnancy news. In November 2023, the duo made a pregnancy announcement via Instagram.

Later, they also announced the gender of the baby at that time.

Dak Prescott has always been excited to endure his fatherhood journey

Dak has expressed his excitement about becoming a father. He earlier said,

“Super, super blessed to have that responsibility, But, at the same time [to] have that opportunity to start a family and bring a child into this world. I know what my mom means to me and, in a sense, have that feeling in a different role is something I’m looking forward to.”

Sadly, the player’s mom, Peggy Prescott, is no longer alive to witness her grandchild. Peggy died on November 3, 2013, a year and a half after being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

Last year, Prescott paid an emotional tribute to his late mom during his appearance on the Today show.

He described his mother as “very selfless, hardworking, loved her boys, and did anything for her three boys.” Similarly, he advocates for colon cancer testing and is always excited when recalling memories with his mom.

“I am who I am because of my mom. I learned so many lessons from watching my mom fight colon cancer, Her courage and fight through that whole battle just showed me how mentally tough one person can be.”
