Daniel Ryan is an English actor and writer, best known for starring as Darren Alexander in the BBC drama comedy Linda Green, Andrew Gilligan in The Government Inspector, Andy Coulson in Steel River Blues and Kenny Reed in The Whistleblowers.

After graduation, Daniel signed an 18-month contract with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He portrayed the character of a paralysed man in a Drinking and Driving Wrecks Lives advert in 1995.
Ten years after finishing school, he performed as Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in 1999 and 2000. He also acted in Fallout and Posh at the Royal Court Theatre, and in Mammals at the Bush Theatre, which later went on tour. In 2008, he appeared in Gethsemane, a new play by David Hare, at the National Theatre.
