Constance Wu announces the arrival of baby No. 2!

The actress revealed on Thursday that she secretly gave birth to her and Ryan Kattner‘s second child, a baby boy. However, she didn’t reveal her son’s name.

In a teaser for Danielle Robay’s PRETTYSMART podcast, the actress said that she dedicated her book to her daughter before welcoming a baby boy. She said,

“Breaking news,”
“Nobody knew I had a son.”

Page Six revealed in February that the Fresh Off the Boat alum, 41, was pregnant with her second baby.

At the time, she shared a photo where she stood with her shirt lifted. Revealing her baby bump, the Hustlers actress wrote in the caption, “Bun in the oven. Filipinese baby #2 coming soon.”

In October, Contsnace revealed to People that her daughter already knows how to command Alexa to play a song and is eagerly waiting for a dance party.

She said at the time,

“She’ll take anyone’s hand, pull them into the middle of the room and say ‘Dance!’ “

The CRA star maintained the same privacy while she was pregnant with her daughter, now 2, in August 2020.

She appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2021 where she said,

“I had a beautiful baby girl in August. She’s the best, she’s the best. She has a full head of hair. She has a blue butt,”

Constance Wu explained that her newborn daughter had a Mongolian spot which is called congenital melanocytosis, a flat blue-ish birthmark that appears at birth or in the first few weeks of life for some babies.

Wu said,

“I had never heard of it before, but it’s called a Mongolian spot,”
“Apparently, it happens in a lot of Asian babies, and my boyfriend and I are both Asian,”

She joked of her partner,

”He actually wrote a song about her blue butt. So, that will be on his next album.”

Wu felt suicidal because of online backlash

At the time, Constance Wu was on a social media hiatus at the time. She remained absent from all platforms and refrained from working due to a 2019 Twitter controversy.

The actress became a target for expressing her frustration over the renewal of Fresh Off the Boat and the constant online backlash even led Wu to attempt suicide.

Thankfully, after “a long time … under therapy and observation,” Wu reevaluated “what matters” in her life.

She told Good Morning America co-hosts in October 2022 that now she wants to be in touch with similar situations and encourage them to seek help.

Constance Wu is back on Twitter and Instagram since July 2022. She has been busy with her acting career and writing a memoir.

The Making a Scene author’s first day as a working mom was the hardest day of her life.

She said at the time in July 2022,

“I missed my baby,”
“It was so emotional.”
