Meanwhile, Pitt didn’t have Aniston’s cell phone number so he tracked it down through “a tangled web” of contacts. On the occasion of Jennifer’s 48th birthday on February 11, he wished his ex, Jennifer Aniston.

According to the insider:

“They started talking once he wished her a happy birthday.”

As per the revelation of the source:

“Brad told her he’s having a hard time with his split and they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past.”

The couple announced their split and finalized their divorce on October 2, 2005. Aniston commented on divorce in January 2015. She gave the interviews to the Holly wood Reporter:

“Nobody did anything wrong…. It was just like, sometimes things happen”.

According to the vanity fair magazine Aniston told:
