In the following season, Mitchell continued to improve, averaging 23.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

He led the Jazz to the playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Houston Rockets.

During the 2019-20 season, Mitchell’s scoring increased to 24.0 points per game, and he was named an All-Star for the first time.

However, the Jazz was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs once again, this time by the Denver Nuggets.

In the 2020-21 season, Mitchell suffered an ankle injury that forced him to miss significant time.

Donovan Mitchell returned in the playoffs, leading the Jazz to the second round, where they were eliminated once again, this time by the Los Angeles Clippers.
