In a place like Hollywood and especially the entertainment business, people are rarely able to sustain their marriage for a longer period.
In the show business, the work is such that they can’t give time to their relationship so much, so those partners who cant keep patience, the relationship cant be strong.
Unlike, celebrity couples, we have Alice Cooper and Sheryl Goddard who celebrated their 42 years of their marriage anniversary. And the cherry on the top is that they are teenage lovers.
The couple tied the knot on March 20, 1976, in Acapulco, Mexico. The couple met each other when they were just eighteen years old.
He split from his band and was in the verse of promoting his first solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare. Though he was in rock and roll, Sheryl had no idea of his fame when they met for the first time with each other. They had such a great conversation in their first meeting itself.
She said,
“We were engaged in a conversation that was so much fun. I didn’t notice everyone slowly leaving the room.”
Ups and downs in their marriage
In 1977, i.e., just after the year of their marriage, the couple started having differences. Their relationship was not working out because Cooper was addicted to alcohol. Then his girlfriend turned wife Sheryl took her to the rehab center. But it did not help him.
She then decided to separate and filed for the divorce and the reason was her husband, Cooper’s drinking habits, and behavior after drinking alcohol. He says,
“You know what, we have never cheated on each other. First of all, marry the girl you are in love with. That’s the important thing. Don’t just marry the girl that you love.”
But before the divorce was finalized, they reconciled and called off their divorce as he promised her to be sober. Since then he has kept the promise. How romantic! And the most important thing was that he has never had extramarital affair or could imagine himself with someone else.
He said,
“If you marry the person you’re in love with, you would never do anything to hurt her. Honestly, I have seen spectacularly beautiful women and said, ‘I’m not interested.'”
Children and Grandchildren
The couple is the proud parents of three children namely Calico Cooper(daughter) born on May 19, 1981, Dashiell Cooper(son) born in 1985, and Sonora Cooper(daughter) born in 1992.
They also became the grandparents of their son’s children in late 2014. His son and his wife had twins named Riot and Falcon.
