Finland’s got a cool Prime Minister, Sanna Marin.

A video of one of the world’s youngest leaders went public which showed her partying, and having a good time with her friends.

But it did not go too well with her opposition parties as they questioned her behavior and even insisted that she had taken drugs at the party.

After the video went public, which was not supposed to, people started giving their opinions on it, some good and some bad.

Following the accusations, Marin said on Friday that she had taken a drug test and confirmed that she had never used illegal drugs.

The 36-year-old further added that she was partying during her off-duty time. She added that she would have left the party had she been needed to work.

In a press conference on Friday, Marina said:

“In recent days, there have been quite grave public accusations that I was in a space where drugs were used, or that I myself used drugs,”

“I consider these accusations to be very serious and, though I consider the demand for a drug test unjust, for my own legal protection and to clear up any doubts, I have taken a drug test today, the results of which will come in about a week.”

The Social Democrat leader explained that she was spending an evening with friends and that the videos were just for fun.

This is not the first time Marin has faced a criticism

After facing lots of criticism, the 36-year-old leader admitted that she consumed alcohol but denied taking drugs. In addition, she also said that she did not see any drug use by her friends.

She added:

“Never in my life, not even in my youth, have I ever used any drugs,”

A poll commissioned by a Finnish channel at that time found that two-thirds of her behavior at the party thought her night out was a serious mistake.

While some are heavily criticizing her for her wild behavior, some defended her right to enjoy her private life with her friends.

33-year-old Marin became the world’s youngest serving government leader in December 2019. In December 2021, she faced criticism after reportedly staying out dancing until late despite suffering from COVID-19.

She has also faced backlash regarding her duties as prime minister if a sudden crisis were to hit Finland at a time when Europe has been unsettled by Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Finland which shares a long border with Russia has agreed to join NATO following Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
