Camille Chen- Taiwanese

Camille Chen, is popularly known for her acting in 2 Broke Girls, American Horror Story, and Law & Order. She was born September 01, 1979, in Taipei, Taiwan. That makes her 39 years at present. Her zodiac sign is Virgo.

When Camille was the age of three, she moved to Houston, Texas. Again in 2007, she was able to go back to Taiwan and visit her dad and his family. She shares,

“I immediately connected to the people, the culture, the food. Pride swelled in my body, and I knew that I had to go out of my way to educate those who didn’t know about this culture that so defined me. And, that’s the first part of my story I’d like you to know. I am Taiwanese.”

Still, her parent’s name is unknown. I assume her parents have been very supportive of her career. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater. It was from the University of Texas in Austin. Currently, she lives in Los Angeles, California.

Initially had no interest in acting

Camille Chen had no concern about acting. During her childhood, she played soccer. She shares,

“I was terrible. And I was SO EMBARRASSED when my mom made me wear a turtleneck under my cute jersey for our team photo. I was a total F.O.B.”

One of her choir teachers encouraged Camille to audition for the annual musical. This was how her passion for acting began. Sharing about her school memory,

“That year they were doing A Chorus Line. A pretty risque show for high schoolers, but we changed “Tits And Ass” to “This And That,” so. I got the role of Connie Wong, and since I’m not 5’2″, we had to change the lyrics to “5’6″” which completely made my song invalid, but whatever.”

Camille Chen’s starting acting career

After entering the theater program, Camille Chen received her first paid job. The role of Miss New Hampshire in Miss Congeniality was her first paid job while working there she got some wondrous friends. After that, she received many job opportunities.

After moving to Los Angeles i.e. in 2003, Camille booked an Old Navy holiday campaign. They were a team singing for carolers and they together shot six commercials. Following that, she was able to book her first T.V. job which was in Without A Trace (American television series).

Camille Chen’s filmography

Camille landed her role in 2002’s movies like The New Guy, Jason and the High Cost of Electricity, and Triple Threat. She made a good start to her career.

The following year, she appeared as Carissa in Sexless. Sexless was also able to win the audience and narrative feature awards at the SXSW film festival.

The same year, Camille made it through Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (Action/Adventure), and also her acting was made through Hallow’s End which is a Horror/B movie. In 2004, she was portrayed as Hua Lee in the movie titled Elegy (horror/thriller).

Continuing her acting, she came up with three movies in 2005. These movies include Passages (Short), Heavenly Beauties (Short), and The Ringer (Sports/Comedy).  In 2006, Camille made an appearance in a movie named Spilled. 

Recently, a movie named Game Night which is based on a Mystery/Crime film was released on February 22, 2018. In this movie, she portrayed the role of Dr. Chin. The movie did pretty well and was able to achieve 117.4 million USD at the box office.

Camille Chen’s television works 

Camille made her appearance in 2005’s American sitcom titled Barbershop: The Series where she played the role of Michelle.

The same year, she made an appearance in Without a Trace (American television series). There she played a server at a sushi restaurant who was a witness. At the time, she was a server at a sushi restaurant in real life.

The following year, she was sen in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip as Samantha Li. In 2007, Camille made through Derek and Simon: The Show where her role was Camille. In 2009, she landed her roles in Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs, Meteor, and Law & Order.

Taking her acting to another level, she landed her acting in three series back in 2010. Private Practice, Eagles in the Chicken Coop, and Grey’s Anatomy. In Grey’s Anatomy, Camille played the role of Kerry Schultz.

She was able to get an amazing role in Law & Order. Furthermore, this role opened up doors to roles on Royal Pains and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

She has accomplished on various shows, but her roles in Californication, American Horror Story: Asylum, Grimm, Castle, and Backstrom are one of her favorite roles of all time.

In 2013, Camille was featured in Grimm and 88 Jade Way. We hope to see more from her!

Camille Chen is married to her boyfriend, Christian Anderson. They first met each other when she was in New York. After that, they fell in love and started dating each other.

They got married back on 4th March 2017 after a year of their dating.  They are blessed with two beautiful daughters named Ruby and Avery (from Christian Anderson’s previous relationship).
