Gene Simmons says he’s fine after falling ill on stage in Brazil while performing for KISS

Gene Simmons has assured his fans that he is feeling better after KISS paused a concert on Wednesday so the rock star could recover from “dehydration.”

The 73-year-old posted to Twitter on Friday for concerned fans. Guitarist Paul Stanley told the crowd that Gene was “obviously sick” and needed care.

He wrote on Twitter:

“Hey everybody, thanks for the good wishes. I’m fine. Yesterday at Manaus Stadium in Brazil, experienced weakness because of dehydration. We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water, and then all was well. Nothing serious.”

He also told his fans he would be seeing them in KISS’ Friday concert at Estadio El Campín in Bogotá, Colombia.

He continued:

“Let’s give Gene a really loud, ‘Gene!’ One, two, three — Gene!”

The show came to a break for about five minutes before the rock star returned to the stage and performed their song, ‘Say Yeah’ while being seated on a chair.
