- Giada De Laurentiis‘ marriage is now officially over and she is a single lady now.

The Food Network star and her fashion designer husband, Todd Thompson, have split up after 11 years of marriage. De Laurentiis revealed on Facebook this evening that they did not arrive at that decision in impatience.
She wrote,
“After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage. Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family’s happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths.”
Says Divorce Brought On ‘Sadness And Self-Doubt’
Giada De Laurentiis said her recent divorce and the hard year that followed gave her a new appreciation for cooking.
She shared that her split from her husband Todd Thompson brought about a ‘huge change’ for her and her daughter Jade Marie. She said while promoting her latest cookbook,
“It brought sadness and self-doubt. I found myself revisiting why I ever got into cooking,”
The celebrity chef said that ultimately,
“cooking was a way for me to find myself again, find a comfort zone and shut out the noise of the world.”

De Laurentiis met her ex-husband when she was in college and the two married in 2003. They welcomed their daughter Jade in 2008. The couple announced their separation on Facebook last December, with De Laurentiis telling fans,
“Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything.”
Late last month, the Emmy Award-winning Food Network star shared a sweet photo of the family enjoying a day at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.

The divorce will share joint custody of daughter Jade Marie. De Laurentiis will pay her ex $9,000 a month in child support.
Thompson, a fashion designer, gets the house in Pacific Palisades, California worth $3.2 million. De Laurentiis must give him 50 percent of all netbook royalties for books she published during their marriage and 50 percent of the unpaid advances to several cookbooks that she has in the works that are more than $5 million. Neither of them has been ordered to pay conjugal support.
The former couple is also dividing up various bank accounts worth more than $2 million.
The Food Network star announced their split on Facebook in December, writing,
“Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family’s happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths. Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything.”
