Halle Berry and Oliver Martinex have finally closed their chapter after a long divorce proceeding. The couple, who filed for divorce back in October 2015, have finalized their divorce after eight years of legal battle.

They were fighting for custody of their 9-year-old son Maceo over the year.

The proceedings come to an end after Martinex has agreed to pay her ex-husband $8,000 a month in child support with joint custody of their son.

In addition, the Monster’s Ball actor is said to pay for their son’s tuition, school uniforms, and school supplies as long as he is in private school.

Maceo is presently enrolled at Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, a Westside Village private school that offers a French and international program.

The settlement also argues further details about their son’s care including extracurricular activities where soccer is specifically named in the documents.

Besides, the agreement indicates that Berry will pay Martinez 4.3% of any income she receives above $2 million.

Following the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s final hearing on Tuesday, August 23, Martinez’s legal team provided the statement that reads,

“The public documents filed in the matter should speak for themselves. The parties wanted more clarity in regards to Maceo’s schedule and each of their respective time with their son. The Judgement was reached in mediation with the partied and their counsel.”

How long have Halle Berry and Oliver Martinex been together?

Halle and Oliver began dating after meeting on the set of Dark Tide in 2010. Three years later, they tied the knot on July 13, 2013.

The same year, they welcomed their son Maceo Robert Martinez. The marriage was going smoothly until they announced their separation in October 2015.

They shared a joint statement revealing they are no longer a married couple. The statement reads,

“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce, We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through this difficult period.”
