American actor, Sam Heughan, 43 has worked with the global actress, Priyanka Chopra, 41 in the film, Love Again. This movie released in the USA and worldwide on 5 May 2023. It is a romantic comedy and will soon feature on the streaming platform, Netflix. This will happen in September this year. And fans are excited.

While talking about the film and it’s making in an interview, Sam was all praise for his co-star, Priyanka Chopra. He was happy about working with her and has become her fan. He feels that she is bold and beautiful and has beauty with brains.

Sam told:

“It started with (writer and director) Jim Strouse’s beautiful script. I loved the story and the characters. And then, when I found out Priyanka (Chopra) was involved, I was even more sold. I am a huge fan of hers, and she is utterly brilliant as the heart of this movie…We got on so well from day one. She welcomed us all into her world. This is a film about love, but the ultimate love story is that of Priyanka and her wonderful husband, Nick (Jonas).”

Nick Jonas is an American singer and actor. He met Priyanka in February 2017. Romance sparked between them and they started dating in May 2018. Soon after, in July 2018, the two got engaged. The wedding was held on 1 December 2018. Their daughter, Malti Marie delivered in January 2022 via surrogacy.

Reel-life Chemistry between Sam and Priyanka

In the movie, Sam plays Priyanka’s love interest. Was it hard to build the chemistry between them? Sam says no. He says that Priyanka is a warm and welcoming person and threw parties that helped them gel. He said:

“We drank! It was actually difficult because we shot in London during lockdown so we had to follow a lot of Covid protocols on set. We had to be very careful. But Priyanka hosted some fun parties for our little bubble; outdoors, I should add. That really helped build that chemistry, and bond everyone on the cast and crew.”

Nick has a cameo in the film. Talking about it, Priyanka revealed:

“I was supposed to do this with a random actor and during Covid having someone lick my face, I was not about it. So I was like ‘Please Nick could you do it?’ He was a sport, he came on set, it was so funny, I was completely unprofessional that day,”

The cast of the film includes besides Sam and Priyanka, Celine Dion, Sofia Barclay, Russell Tovy, Lydia West, Amanda Blake, etc. The writer and director is James C. Strouse. The film has grossed revenue exceeding $10 million at the box office. The distributors are Sony Pictures Releasing and the creation was due to partnership of Screen Gems, 2.0 Entertainment, and Thunder Road Films.

The story revolves around a young woman, Mira Ray who is struggling to cope with the death of her fiance, John (played by Arinzé Kene). She, with no real intentions, sends love messages on her fiance’s cell phone. But it has been reassigned to a journalist, Rob Burns.

The story moves forward as a tussle as Rob wants to meet, date, and romance Mira but Mira is unprepared for it at that stage. Does she go for his love? Or does she not?

59% of people liked the movie. Its IMDb rating is 5.7/10. Rotten Tomatoes notes:

“Love Again? After watching this treacly romance, you’re likely to come away thinking once was more than enough.”

Metacritic scored the film 32 out of 100. Audience survey by CinemaScore rated it as B. The female audience were more happy with the movie, according to PostTrak. 81% of the female viewers gave it a positive review and most said that they would recommend others to watch the movie.
