Hilary Swank began her motherhood journey last month. In early April, she and her Philip Schneider husband are blessed with twins a son and a daughter.

The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actress celebrated Mother’s Day this year for the first time as a mother.

She shared Instagram stories wishing all the mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day and offering a glimpse of the love she received on Mother’s Day.

The first photo of the IG story featured a vase of canary yellow flowers alongside a hand-written card.

While another snap was of a present she was sent by the company Charmco, a beachy charm in the shape of a sand dollar with the word “Mama” written across it.

Similarly, she tagged the company while showing gratitude and wrote next to the photo,

“My birthstone inside a vintage Mama Charm,”

Hilary and Philip appear to have decided to spend the day at home with their newborns.

The Million Dollar Baby actor shared the babies’ arrival news last month via Instagram post.

She posted a picture of herself looking out at a sunset across the lake while carrying her new babies, one on each shoulder. Similarly, she simply captioned the post,

“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it,”

Swank also wished everyone a happy Easter as she had twins just before the festive. She added,

“Happy Easter! Posting from pure Heaven.”

Twins were born on April 9, a week sooner than their due date, which also happened to be close to the birthday of Hilary’s late father Stephen Swank. She said at the time,

“My dad, he was one of my favorite people in the world. It is kind of this tribute of life with them being born on this birthday. … It’s all aligning.”

In October 2022, the actress announced her pregnancy on Good Morning America, revealing that she and Schneider would be welcoming twins.

The two-time Oscar winner has faced criticism for having children in her late 40s. However, she highlighted during her interview with Extra why she waited till the age of 48 to have children.

She told the outlet,

“I was having a career and not having the right relationship until … four years ago, and all the elements needed to come together and be right. It’s just something I thought about even as a young girl. It’s something that was on my mind, so it’s nice to be here and just be pregnant.”
