Jason Kidd is an American basketball coach. He has talent but his professional and personal life is plagued with controversies.

Jason Kidd and his first marriage

In 1997, Jason Kidd wed Joumana who is an actress and journalist. The couple has three children together: twins Miah and Jazelle and Trey Jason.

But in January 2001, Jason assaulted his wife and was arrested on charges of domestic violence. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to undergo anger management classes for six months.

He complied and all seemed well for a few years. But on 9 January 2007, Jason filed for divorce claiming that his relationship with his wife was fraught with extreme jealousy, ‘unreasonable behavior’, and false accusations of domestic violence.

Joumana put in a counterclaim that Jason had broken her ribs and impaired her hearing after he hit her head into the console of a car.

Jason and his second marriage

Jason began dating former model, Porschla Coleman. They got engaged and 13 months later, on 10 September 2011, Jason married Porschla.

Jason uploaded pictures of the wedding ceremony on his Twitter account. It was an intimate affair in the presence of selected friends and relatives.

The couple’s first child, son Chance, arrived on 24 January 2010. Their second child was a daughter named Noah Grace Kidd who came in 2012. Their third child, daughter Ann Cooper Kidd was born in 2017. The couple now stay at the Hamptons, a suburb of New York.

But Jason’s meetings with the law continue. In 2012 on 15 July, the Southampton Town police arrested Jason for driving under the influence. He hit a telephone pole before his car entered the woods nearby.

Jason and his career

Jason Kidd began his career on the basketball court as a player. He was an excellent point guard and passer and ten-time NBA All-Star.

He played for Dallas Mavericks and won gold medal twice with the national team; in 2000 and in 2008. But as a player, there are innumerable behavior tales about him, both on-court and off-the-court.

As a freshman, Jason had started a mutiny that led to the firing of coach, Lou Campanelli. In the mid-1990s, Jason had fought with Dallas teammate, Jim Jackson. In December 2003, he had a locker room tirade with Byron Scott.

Bryon was forced to leave New Jersey due to it. In December 2007, he feigned migraine and missed a game. He used to get fouls for misbehaving with rival team members.

Jason’s name is in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In 2021, his name came up in the NBA 75th Anniversary Team which is an honor for his great performance at the game.

Since 2014, he is the head coach; first for Nets, and later for Milwaukee Bucks and now for Dallas Mavericks.

But his team players have horror stories to share about him as head coach. NBA writer Mirin Fader published a book that was released in August 2021. It narrates how Jason used to bully the players under him.

He demanded an answer from Zaza Pachulia and Jared Dudley after their team Milwaukee Bucks lost in 2014. Because Jason thought it was a winnable game.

Jason prevented them from going on Christmas holiday and gave them a rigorous drill on those days. Further, he called Larry Sanders a terrible player and a piece of shit.
