Who is  Jay B?

Jay B has millions of followers as an actor, singer, composer, and dancer. He is best known as the frontman of the South Korean boy band Got7, as well as a member of the boy band duo JJ Project and sub-unit Jus2.

Lim Jae-beom, better known as Jay B or JB, was born on January 6, 1994, in Siheung, Gyeonggi, South Korea. As of 2023, he is 29 years old. He is Korean in nationality and Asian in ethnicity.

His parents split when he was young owing to his father’s drinking problem, and his mother eventually remarried. In Ilsan, his family has a tomato farm. He has never revealed his parents’ names to the public.

After seeing G.O.D. perform when he was seven, he formed the desire to be a singer. After failing a school test, he began b-boying in his third year of middle school, dancing with pals at Ilsan, Paju, Boramae, and Jeongbalsan stations, and competing.

In 2009, Jay B was scouted by JYP Entertainment at a b-boy competition however he was not interested in attending the audition, but his father pushed him to do so. He subsequently passed the open audition, winning first place.

Jay B was cast in the role of Jang Woo-Jae in the television drama Dream High 2 in 2012. With the single album Bounce, he and fellow trainee Jinyoung made their debut as the duet JJ Project in 2012. He appeared as Seo Mi-joon in MBC’s new drama When a Man Falls in Love in 2013.

JJ Project’s two members made their debut in 2014 as part of Got7, a seven-member boy band. In 2015, he was in Dream Knight, a web drama and   In 2018, Jae-beom and groupmate Yugyeom took part in the art collaboration project Collaboran for the carbonated mineral water brand Perrier. In 2019, They made their Got7 debut as Jus2 with their EP Focus and lead single “Focus on Me.”
