Jemele Hill is 47 and is a popular American sports journalist. Her parents , Denise Dennard and Jerel Brickerson were victims of drug addiction. Her mother raised her single-handedly in Detroit, Michigan. Jemele studied at Mumford High School and later graduated from the Michigan State University in the year 1997.

Jemele is a married woman. She met her husband, Ian Wallace in 2014 and started a serious relationship in 2015. Ian is also a student of Michigan State University but the couple never met or dated at that time. He was born on 6 August 1980 and is a medical salesman by profession.

In the end of the year 2018, Ian proposed to Jemele and she said yes. Jemele shared the happy news on her Instagram with a photo of Ian on bent knees in front of her on the rooftop and wrote below:

“I’ve called this my year of transition,”
“I left a job, started a new job, moved to a new city and now … I’m engaged to the love of my life. I’m overjoyed and immensely blessed. In a series of photos.”

Jemele told Essence at that time:

“I’ve found someone who makes me better, takes care of my spirit, and is secure enough to handle the public attention I receive. I truly feel like the luckiest woman on Earth.”

The engagement ring was a Tacori, a solitaire cut diamond ring. They wed in 2019 at Monarch Beach Resort in California. Praising Jemele, Ian said:

“I learned that Jemele is very accommodating,”
“It’s her wedding, but she’s thinking about others. She’s also very decisive.”

Jemele’s personal loss

Recently, Jemele lost her mother-in-law, Tanya Bailey. She revealed the sad news on her Twitter handle. She wrote:

“My heart is so heavy as I write this. My mother in law, Tanya Bailey, passed away on Saturday at 66 years old. She was a wonderful person who trusted me to take care of her most precious gift — her son, Ian. We had a great relationship and I will miss her dearly. As my mother said, Tanya isn’t gone. She just went to her heavenly address.”

Friends, fans, and others paid their condolences to her on social media. One wrote:

“So very sorry for you loss–66 is too young. so sorry.”

Yolanda Clay -Moore commented:

“My deepest condolences goes out you, Ian and all who loved and knew her.”

Marc Ward expressed:

Jemele and her love of the term White Supremacists

Jemele is extremely fond of the word: white Supremacists. She uses it often and has landed in trouble due to it. Her downfall in her previous job with ESPN started when she called Donald Trump a white supremacist. She had tweeted:

“Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.”

She feels that the whole Republican party and the whole USA is full of white supremacists. It is not only current America but even those who fought World War II are white supremacists as per Jemele. In October 2020, she had tweeted:

“And yes, there’s a white supremacy problem in the police department. Has been for a long time.”

According to her, even the law has most of these White Supremacists. White people, white women, white pastors, white churches, Greece, Russia, Earth, a Patriots kicker, West Virginia Democratic senator, Joe Manchin, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Marjorie Taylor Greene, psychologist Jordan Peterson, TV hosts Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson, Asian citizens of USA, People of color….the list for her is endless.
