Joao Félix aka João Félix Sequeira is a professional Portuguese football player. He is an active player, who plays for the Portugal national team as well as the La Liga side Atlético Madrid as a forward.

Joao Félix started his initial career at the age of just 8, by joining, Os Pestinhas. Then, he joined, Benfica youth ran, one of the best sports academics.

Following that at the age of 12, he moved out is house, and joined Benfica in 2015, at the age of 15. On 17 September 2016, he played a LigaPro match against, Freamunde making his professional debut. He was the youngest footballer to achieve such a feat in Benfica B.  The following year, he played 13 matches with three goals.

He was also part of the UEFA Youth League and was able to reach the finals of the tournament. On 18 August 2018, he made his senior debut in a Primeira Liga match against Boavista. On 25 August 2018, he scored his first senior goal in the Lisbon derby against Sporting Lisbon. During the match against, Vitória de Guimarães on 16th January 2019, he scored his first Portuguese Cup goal in the quarterfinal match.

On 11 April 2019, Joao Félix scored a hat trick against the Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League.

Atlético Madrid Career

On 3 July 2019, he signed a seven-year professional deal with La Liga club Atlético Madrid, with a transfer fee worth, €126 million. It is the fourth most expensive signing in football history.

Joao Félix was given the jersey of number seven, upon his club’s arrival after which he made his debut La Liga match against Getafe on 19 August 2019.

On 1 October 2019, Felix scored during a UEFA Champions League match over Lokomotiv Moscow. With his hard work, he received the Golden Boy Award.

Starting a victory against Barcelona, he scored his debut goal on 9 January 2020. Unfortunately, he had a leg injury on 26 January 2020, during a match against CD Leganés. After a month’s rest, he made comeback on 23 February 2020 while playing against Villarreal.

On 15 March 2019, he was called for the senior national team, by the Portuguese manager Fernando Santos. He was eligible for the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches.  After injuring his leg during training, he remained sidelined.

Making comeback he participated in the 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals and On 5 June 2019, he played in the semifinals of the UEFA Nations League.

On 9 June 2019, his goal assisted the Portuguese to grab the final victory against the Netherlands.

Joao Félix qualified in Portugal’s preliminary 55-man squad for the 2020 FIFA World Cup, in Qatar in October 2022.

On November 24, 2022, Joao scored a brace in the 78th minute of the FIFA World Cup 2022 game, against, Ghana, which was held at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar.

In the end, Portugal beat Ghana by 3-2.
