It’s officially over for Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara!

The Magic Mike star filed for divorce on Wednesday from his estranged wife after seven years of marriage. The official filing comes just two days after the couple announced their separation.

TMZ reported that Manganiello cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.

The court documents confirmed that the soon-to-be exes have a prenuptial agreement which shows that the two will keep their own assets accumulated during their marriage.

News of their split came on July 17 when the actors said in an exclusive joint statement,

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce.”
“As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

An insider added the reason for their split,

“Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”

After the split, rumors began to circulate about what ended the once madly-in-love couple’s union.

A source previously claimed that Joe’s decision to get sober had an impact on his marriage since Sofia Vergara, 51, still drank on social occasions.

However, another source claimed that the America’s Got Talent judge “could not have been more supportive” of her estranged husband’s sobriety.

When did Sofia and Joe actually separate?

For a few months, there were many signs that the Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s paradise was in trouble.

In August 2022, Sofia attended her former co-star Sarah Hyland’s wedding without her husband by her side.

The actress also enjoyed a lot of time without Joe, including going on a girls’ trip to Italy where she celebrated her 51st birthday, and posting many sexy snaps of herself in a bikini.

Joe did wish on the Colombian star’s birthday recently with a social media post that fans thought was cold and suspicious.

One person commented on the post,

The couple first met through Vergara’s former co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in 2014.

Sofia Vergara was engaged to businessman Nick Loeb at the time. However, the Pittsburgh native asked for her number as soon as the two called it quits.

Vergara and Manganiello then tied the knot in a lavish Palm Beach ceremony in November 2015 in front of 400 guests.

The two do not have any children together. Sofia has a 31-year-old son named Manolo from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez.
