The wedding of John David Duggar and Abbie Grace Burnett took place on 3 November 2018, US Weekly reports.

The couple released a statement to US Weekly which said:

“We are so excited to be married! ‘It was a beautiful moment and we so appreciate our friends and family for sharing this day with us.”

The statement continued:

“Most of all we are thankful to Christ for bringing us together. This is going to be an amazing journey!’

Confirmation of the wedding on the Duggar Family website

News about the wedding was posted on the Duggar family website which read as follows:

“We are overjoyed for the two of them to begin their married life together, We know the Lord has brought them together and will use them to reach many people, We are so happy to be surrounded by family and friends and we thank you all for your prayers and support for John and Abbie!”

About the couple’s courtship

The couple started dating in June this year and the announcement of their courtship was made on the family website.

It said:

“We are so excited to announce the courtship of John David and Abbie! John David brings our hearts so much joy and we’ve watched him faithfully pray, wait, and trust God for the right girl to come along! Now, a beautiful relationship has blossomed between the two of them. We can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in the future.”

The couple knew each other for many years but it was their meeting at a church event in Oklahoma that brought them together.

About the couple’s engagement

On 25 July the couple announced that they were engaged. Their Instagram had a photo of John who was on one knee and he popped the question. They were standing in the middle of a heart made of rose petals.

The couple captioned the picture thus:

“Looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together!”

They also put up a separate video on their Instagram and said:

“We’ve been ready for this step for a little while, but it was really just I had a lot of things that I wanted to get done to make it really special,”

This year was special for the Duggars. Their son Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson in June in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. There was also some baby news which kept them all on their toes especially the ladies of the house!
