John Greaves began his professional music career in the late 1960s as a member of the influential progressive rock band, Henry Cow.

He played bass guitar and provided vocals for the band, which was known for its experimental and avant-garde approach to music-making.

John Greaves contributed to many of the band’s most notable recordings, including “In Praise of Learning” and “Western Culture.”

After leaving Henry Cow in the late 1970s, Greaves went on to collaborate with many other prominent musicians and composers, including Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno, and Carla Bley.

John Greaves released his first solo album, “Kew. Rhone.”, in 1977.  It got critically acclaimed records throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

In addition to his work as a musician, John Greaves has also composed music for film and television.
