The 18-year-old student Juliette could not thank her family for encouraging her to buy the ticket. Juliette, of Sault Ste. Marie told lottery officials after her big win that it was her grandfather who suggested celebrating her milestone birthday in a fun way.

“My grandfather suggested I buy a lottery ticket for fun.”

She was perplexed after she got the idea of a lottery ticket from her grandfather. But after buying her LOTTO 6/49 ticket she forgot all about it until more of a surprise when she heard that there had been a winner from her city, and it was her.

The university student who was working when the result was announced, was in a state of doubt when her co-worker checked on the ticket for her. She just explained the situation where her colleague just yelled at the whooping cash prize.

“My colleague fell to his knees in disbelief. He was yelling, in fact, everyone was yelling that I won $48 million! I didn’t understand what was going on at first. I couldn’t process this news. We kind of made a scene in the store that day!”

Juliette was rolling down the tears of joy when she rang her mother, and everyone seemed what just happened. Though her boss gave her the day off, Mom asked her to finish the shift.  She also added how her dad put her together,

“Thankfully my dad was able to piece together that I won the lottery jackpot!”
