Jung Chae-Yul is no longer alive among us! South Korean actress and model has been found dead at her home on Tuesday, April 11. She was just 26.

Her untimely passing was confirmed by her agency, Management S, with details that the cause of her death is still under review. The heartbroken statement reads,

“We have to deliver very heartbreaking and unfortunate news—actress Chae-yul left us on April 11th. Her funeral will be held privately in accordance to the wishes of her family, who must be in greater sadness than anyone else. We hope you pray for the deceased so Chaeyul, who was also sincere in her acting, may rest in peace.”

The company’s CEO, Lee Soo Haeng, also paid tribute to the late Chae-Yul in an interview with OSEN where he reflected on her legacy.

“Our Chae Yul was very hardworking. She was a deep-hearted and cool friend. In my opinion, it is hard to describe in words how amazing she was as an actress.”

The sudden death of the actress has shocked fans and the entertainment industry. As soon as her death was confirmed many took to social media platforms to express their grief for the beloved actress Jung Chae-Yul.

One of her fans penned down,

“Such heartbreaking news, may she rest in peace.”

While another added,

“I wish you all the best and only good memories.”

A third one wrote,

“I’ll cheer for you to achieve higher dreams in the sky”

What was Jung Che-Yul best known for?

Jung Che-Yul was a rising star from South Korea. She began her career as a model and made her television debut in the Korean modeling show, Devil’s Runway in 2016.

She then made her movie acting debut in 2018 through the film Deep. Later, she got her career breakthrough in the 2020 Netflix drama Zombie Detective where she portrayed the role of ‘Bae Yoon-mi’.

The show premiered on September 21, 2020, starring Choi Jin-hyuk, Park Ju-hyun, and Kwon Hwa-woon. Similarly, the show received the Best Challenge Award at the 18th KBS Entertainment Awards.

Besides, she was also cast in an upcoming K-drama titled Wedding Impossible, which is currently in production. According to reports, the team has suspended filming until at least April 12 in the wake of the actress’ death.
