Two women who were formerly employees of Donda Academy have sued Kanye West for racial discrimination and wrongful termination.
The academy feeds kids sushi every day and does not allow students to bring outside food and drinks according to the lawsuit.

Former teachers of Donda Academy, Cecilia Hailey and her daughter Chekarey Byers, are taking legal action against Kanye West, alleging wrongful termination and racial discrimination.

The two women claim that they were subjected to racial discrimination, had their wages withheld unlawfully, and were fired from their respective positions in retaliation for reporting school code violations.

The allegations against the Christian school are quite unusual, such as the ban on all colors, within the classrooms, and the requirement for all staff and students to dress entirely in black.

Ye forbade classes on the second floor due to fear of stairs, according to the teachers.

The two women, who claim to have been the only two black female teachers at the academy, are pursuing damages for wrongful termination after allegedly being subjected to racial discrimination.

According to the lawsuit, when Hailey threatened to escalate her grievances to Ye, she was warned not to contact him.

Hailey stated that they are taking a stand because it is the right thing to do and that their intention is not to defame a celebrity, but rather to do what is best for the children. The two women allege that they were both terminated from their respective positions without justification in the academy’s parking lot on March 3, 2023.

Ye, the school, and three of its directors are now facing claims for damages exceeding $1 million due to these allegations.

The lawsuit claims there is constant bullying, Sushi meals every day, and other health violations

Chekarey Byers, who started working as a fifth-grade teacher in January 2023, claims to have observed several bad things at the school, such as bullying and inadequate security measures.

The lawsuit also indicates violations of health and safety regulations and illegal teaching practices to the school’s principal, Moira Love.

Additionally, they also claim that the school only provided a sushi meal per day every day and did not allow students to bring any food or drinks other than water onto the campus. Ye allegedly spends $10,000 per week on sushi.

The lawsuit also claims that students were banned from using crossword puzzles or coloring sheets, and were not permitted to go outside during the day, even for recess or lunch.

“Kanye West needs to realize his genius is in creating music, not in school administration”

The attorney for the two women Ron Zambrano said:

“Kanye West is clearly as bad at running a school as he is at managing his own personal and professional life, enabling an unsafe and illegal school environment for students that also discriminated against the plaintiffs based on their race”

He added:

“Kanye needs to realize his genius is in creating music, not in school administration.”

Byers, claiming to be a fan of Ye, talks about the lawsuit:

“I’m extremely sad about all of this. It was such a huge honor and privilege to work at Donda Academy for Kanye West. I’m a huge Kanye fan. His first album was the first I ever purchased.”

She added:

“I still enjoy his music, and I’ll never deny his talent, but while his vision for the school sounds great on paper, it’s just pure chaos and mutiny. It’s like a mental hospital being run by the patients.”
