Keith Nale passed away at the age of 62

Keith Nale, who appeared on Survivor: Sam Juan del Sur and Survivor: Cambodia, is no longer alive among us!

His death was confirmed by his family members that Nale took his last breath on Tuesday afternoon, April 18, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

His son, Wes Nale, said to Entertainment Tonight,

“He passed away this afternoon. He’d been battling cancer for the past few months and we found out about it in January.”

Similarly, Keith’s brother Kevin Nale expressed his grief over his sibling’s passing while adding,

“A life taken way too soon!”

As soon as his death was confirmed many took to social media platforms to mourn the loss of Keith Nale.

Wentworth, who competed alongside Keith in both San Juan del Sur and Cambodia, took to Twitter to pay tribute to the beloved costar. She tweeted,

“Keith – a man with the purest heart, who brought humor into moments where it was needed most. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to meet Keith & share memories together on the beaches of Nicaragua & Cambodia. My heart is with the entire Nale family. This is a devastating loss.”

While former fire captain Jeremy Collins wrote,

“My condolences to the Big D, Wes, Austin and entire Nale family. You will be missed Keith but your legacy will live on. Rest in power my firefighter/survivor brother. #RIPOtis.”

What was Keith Nale best known for?

Keith Nale was a two-time Survivor best known for his appearances on Survivor: Sam Juan del Sur and Survivor: Cambodia.

He made his television in the year 2014 through the 29th season of the CBS series, Survivor: San Juan del Sur where he played along with his son.

Nale had made it all the way to the final four but was unfortunately voted out one day before the Final Tribal Council. After his elimination, Keith opened up about competing on the show in his 50s in an interview with Uproxx.

He said,

“They were impressed, being I was 53. Now granted that’s not 93, but that’s not 23 either. And I said ‘Man, they were impressed with some of the challenges.’”
“They said, ‘Man, I couldn’t have hung on that pole for an hour and a half.’ They were all behind me, a great bunch of guys. They wanted me to win it and, you know, bring it home to Louisiana. But that just didn’t happen.”

He later made an appearance on the following season of Survivor: Cambodia, however, in alike early season he was sent home earlier.
