Reflecting on her potential retirement, Palmer said she hopes to be seen as a trailblazer for those behind her.

Is Keke Palmer tired of Hollywood?

Keke Palmer is planning to quit her Hollywood career.

The actress revealed in an interview with Teen Vogue that she feels she may step away from Hollywood soon.

She said during the chat,

“I think the timer has started,”
“I think [I haven’t retired] because I just haven’t felt it yet. But the timer, I know that it’s around the corner.”

The Nope actress, 30, said that she doesn’t know exactly when she will do it but knows it is happening.

Palmer started acting when she was just 9 when she appeared on Barbershop 2: Back in Business.

The mom of one said that when the time comes and sits there reflecting on all her accomplishments, she hopes she is trailblazing for those coming up behind her.

Palmer explained,

“The main thing I want those legacies to be is [a call] to use your power for good, to use what you have to create spaces and systems for other people to thrive,”
”I just don’t believe in holding everything. I don’t believe in gatekeeping. I’m not a coward.”

The former Nickelodeon star also made Emmy history in January after winning Outstanding Host for a Game Show, making her the first woman to do so in 15 years.

What does Keke want her son to learn from her legacy?

Keke also explained how she wants her legacy to touch her son Leodis Leo Andrellton Jackson.

She said of her baby boy who will turn 1 in February,

“I want to raise him to know that if life is a school, get out there and learn,”
“A part of learning in this place, I think, is to love and to know how to first be unconditionally loving to yourself, so that you know how to love others and be of service to others in a way that doesn’t disadvantage them but instead empowers them.”

The young mother is teaching her son to love himself as she lives life as a single parent after getting a restraining order against his dad, Darius Jackson in November 2023, as well as sole custody of him.

The former teen star accused her ex of “many instances of physical violence” — including in front of their son — and verbal abuse.

Despite the tough times, Palmer seems to be doing what is good for her life.

Earlier this month, Keke said on social media that she has never been so happy in her whole life.
