American actress cum singer, Keke Palmer has a son with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson. The couple had an on-off relationship since 2021 but they separated for good in October 2023. This separation came amidst allegations of domestic violence against Darius.

Keke has asked for sole custody of their son. The child is just eight months of age. Darius, of course, is not ready for it. On 7 November 2023, he showed up at Keke’s house unannounced and demanded to see his child. He wanted to take him to the football match. But Keke was not willing to let go of her son. Darius was angry and yelled at Keke.

Keke asks for a restraining order

The actress and mother of one filed for a temporary restraining order against Darius. In her filing at the Los Angeles Superior Court, she wrote:

“At that point, he lunged at me, grabbing at my neck and face, knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands, and then ran out of the house,”

Further, Keke explained that the police reached the scene before Darius could leave. She added:

“After interviewing me, my sister, and Darius, they made him leave and warned him not to come back,”

Keke also mentioned in the court documents about an incident that happened in February 2022. She had showed Darius her bikini photo. Darius was enraged and jealous and Keke added:

“In the bedroom, he slammed me on the floor and slapped my head from side to side. The next morning, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs near the front door, screaming at me as I was coming down the stairs. When I was almost at the bottom of the stairs, he grabbed me around the neck and body slammed me back onto the stairs,”

The singer also submitted photos of both incidents that were captured on her security cameras.

Allegations of domestic abuse and judge’s order

Keke stated that she suffered a lot of abuse in the relationship. Her court documents read:

“The abuse during our relationship was not just physical, but emotional and manipulative.”
“So much of Darius’ abuse towards me throughout our relationship was based on his insecurity and jealousy, that I became extremely concerned when Darius started to express jealousy about the time I was spending with our son.”

The crying of their son also upsets Darius, she said. He tried to hurt their son Leo. Keke managed to intervene and save him. But the uncontrolled, violent behavior was dangerous and upsetting. Hence her demand for a temporary restraining order against him.

The judge granted Keke her wish and ordered Darius to stay 100 yards away from her and her son. She got sole custody of Leo and Darius gets no visitation rights now. Whether this order will become permanent will be clear after the December hearing.
