Kelly Clarkson‘s former spouse Brandon Blackstock, who managed her while they were married, must return the singer’s millions of dollars in overcharged commission.

A California labor commissioner ruled that Clarkson’s former manager overcharged the Grammy winner by seven figures when he worked for her.

Legal documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday showed that Blackstock crossed the line when he booked gigs and inked deals for his then-wife on The Voice, Norwegian Cruise Line, Wayfair, and as the host of the Billboard Music Awards.

The labor commissioner stated that only agents and not managers, can have the lawful right for securing talent roles. But, there are a few exceptions.

Brandon now owes the Stronger singer a total of $2,641,374 — a decision he’s planning to appeal.

The outlet also mentioned that he made $1.98 million in commission from the singer’s role on The Voice and only received $93.30 after she hosted the BMAs.

Clarkson wanted her spouse to return whatever percentage he made after she scored her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. However, the commission ruled that Brandon gets to keep the money.

The Because of You hitmaker, 41, filed for divorce from Brandon, 46, in June 2020 after seven years of marriage.

It certainly wasn’t an easy one as the estranged couple got into a bitter custody battle over their 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, son, Remington “Remy” Alexander, 7, and their Montana ranch.

They finally settled their nasty divorce in March 2022.
