Lady Rose Hanbury is suddenly all over social media after the public’s question about Princess Catherine‘s whereabouts after her last appearance in December 2023. But why is that?

It was because rumor of Rose’s affair with Prince William resurfaced just weeks after Kensington Palace announced in January 2024 that Catherine would be undergoing abdominal surgery. The palace also confirmed that the Princess of Wales would not appear in public until Easter.

It was Catherine’s disappearance and her photoshop fail of herself and her three kids in honor of Mother’s Day, that became a hot topic.

The royal faced immense backlash due to the edited photo. After that, she released an apology and admitted that it was her behind the controversial photo.

Who is Lady Hanbury and what is her title?

Rose was born on March 15, 1984, to Timothy Hanbury, a website designer, and Emma Hanbury, a fashion designer.

Her mom, Emma is the granddaughter of Lady Elizabeth Longman, who happened to be a close friend of Queen Elizabeth II.

Longman even served as a bridesmaid in the late queen’s historic 1947 wedding to Prince Philip.

Talking about her professional career, Rose worked as a fashion model, signing with the Storm agency when she was only 23.

She then worked as a researcher for Conservative politician Michael Gove for some time.

How does Hanbury know William and Catherine?

Rose was close pals with both Wills and Kate. She even attended their 2011 wedding at Westminster Abbey. However, their affair rumor started only in 2019.

Rose is married to David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. They said I DO in June 2009 at Chelsea Town Hall in London — two days after announcing their engagement.

They are parents to three children: twin boys Alexander Hugh George Cholmondeley, Earl of Rocksavage, and Lord Oliver Timothy George Cholmondeley, in October 2009, and daughter Lady Iris Marina Aline Cholmondeley in March 2016.

The family lives at their Norfolk estate, Houghton Hall, which is not far from William and Middleton’s estate, Anmer Hall.
