Lee Si-Young files for divorce from her husband, Jo Seung Hyun
South Korean actress and former amateur boxer, Lee Si-Young, 42 has filed for divorce from her husband. Lee’s agency has confirmed this sad news.
Lee Si-Young files for divorce
South Korean actress, Lee Si-Young has decided to call it quits to her marital relationship. She has sought divorce from her businessman husband of more than seven years.
On 17th March 2025, Lee’s agency Ace Factory did give a confirmation of this sad news. Its statement said:
“They are in the process of getting a divorce through mutual agreement.”
The statement continued:
“As it is the actress’s private life, please understand that it is difficult to answer other questions besides this.”

The reason for the divorce is not clear yet. Neither Lee nor her husband have put up any social media posts related to it.
The relationship of the couple
When, where and how Lee met her prospective husband is not known. But it seems that the two started dating in August of 2016. At that time, Lee was at the peak of her career and had already gained a lot of fame and wealth.
Lee’s husband is a restaurant businessman whose name is Jo Seung Hyun . He gained rapid sucess in his profession and had expanded his business in a short time. People often refer to him as Little Baek Jong Won. He is nine years elder to Lee.

In July 2017, Lee has made an announcement that she is 14 weeks pregnant with Jo’s baby. Later, on 30th September 2017, the couple walked down the aisle together. The wedding was an intimate one that took place in a hotel in Seoul. The guests were only family and close friends. Lee’s agency at that time, Huayi Brothers had shared photos of her wedding on 1st October 2017.
The couple’s child, a son, Jo Jung-Yoon arrived on 7th January 2018.
Lee Si-Young’s career
Lee has done a course in fashion designing from Dongduk Women’s University. Her family had relocated to Seoul from Cheongwon County, Chungcheongbuk-do when she was nine years of age.
It was in 2008 that Lee began her career. This was a guest appearance on Urban Legends Deja Vu, season 3. Later, she was part of the historical drama The Kingdom of the Winds.
Lee gained fame with her role in Boys Over Flowers on KBS2. She also was on the MBC variety show We Got Married.

In 2009, on the show We Got Married, Lee was paired with Jun Jin who was a member of the boy band, Shinhwa. They had a common liking for animes and got the label of the Gundam couple on the show. Jun and Lee also had a real-life relationship outside the show for six months. But they broke up in September 2009.

Lee has been the host of the show Entertainment Relay (Entertainment weekly) for two years from 2010 to 2012. Though Lee did some negative roles, she managed to make those roles lovable. Her performance was praised and she made second-lead roles memorable.
Lee’s first big screen role was in Meet the In-Laws. Her recent performance in Sweet Home series also charmed the audience.
