Leo Sayer confirmed he married girlfriend Donatella Piccinetti after almost four decades of togetherness

Leo Sayer is a married man! He tied the knot with his girlfriend Donatella Piccinett, whom he dated for 38 years, over a weekend ago.
The wedding ceremony took place on Saturday, April 15, in his adopted home of Australia in an intimate ceremony in front of their loved ones.
Leo Sayer is officially married to his longtime girlfriend Donatella Piccinetti
The former Celebrity Big Brother star, 74, took to Instagram on Monday, April 17, to share the happy news that he married his longtime girlfriend after dating almost for four decades.
He shared a black-and-white photo of his bride’s hand over him, with both showing off their new rings writing next to the photo, “15th March 2023 DONATELLA PICCINETTI MARRIED LEO SAYER”.
He then simply captioned the post,
“This past weekend was truly a dream…,”
“After being partners for almost 39 years, Donatella Piccinetti and Leo Sayer got married in their garden in the Southern Highlands on Saturday 15th of April.”
The More Than I Can Say singer then went on to acknowledge that they had a private ceremony attended by 40 guests among their close friends. Following the ceremony, the reception lunch took place at the famous Magpie Restaurant in Berrima.

The statement later concludes by stating,
“The weather was sunny, the bride was radiant, the groom looked handsome and they couldn’t be happier with how the day went.”
Publishing executive Jackie Frank shared a photo of herself with the newlywed couple from their big day.
In the picture, the bride of the day can be seen wearing a simple white dress with a long glitter veil. Piccinett is accessorized with a necklace, silver color bangles, and several rings.
Similarly, Sayer wore an off-white coat and pants underneath a floral print button-up shirt and regimental lined blend white tie.

Leo Sayer falls in love with Donatella Piccinetti at first sight
In 2021, Sayer and Piccinetti get candid about their relationship on the Johnnie and Tiggy Walker Consciously Coupling podcast.
The now-married couple first met back in the year 1984 when Piccinetti had recently moved to London from her native Italy. At the time, the new bride worked as a hostess at an Italian restaurant whereas Sayer was a customer.
She recalled,
“I could see this guy looking at me and not eating… so I went up to them and said, ‘Is everything OK? And he said, ‘Yeah. Who are you anyway?’ And then people, they were sitting around the bar, they said, ‘Oh, do you know who that is?’ I said no. ‘Oh, that’s Leo Sayer.’ I knew his songs, I realized after, but I didn’t know who he was.”
Sayer, on the other hand, admitted he was instantly hit it off by Piccinetti, and explained he went to the restaurant daily so he could ask her out. The pop star said,
“It was love at first sight for me. She’s just this lovely glowing light in my life.”
