Why Linda Evangelista won’t date again?

Linda Evangelista doesn’t intend to have any romantic relationships in the future.

The Canadian supermodel, 58, recently gave an interview with The Sunday Times where she got candid about her thoughts on finding romance again.

Evangelista revealed that since 2015, when a botched CoolSculpting fat-freezing surgery left her disfigured, she hasn’t been out with anyone. Besides, she confessed that she wouldn’t date again in the future.

She said she can’t bear the thought of sharing her space with someone else and is “not interested” in dating.

“I don’t want to sleep with anybody anymore. I don’t want to hear somebody breathing,”

Although Linda admitted that she is “really scared” to go out, she also said that her anxiety usually goes away as soon as she feels at ease in social situations. She said,

“I have social anxiety when I go to places or parties and I’m really scared. I anticipate failure before everything and think something bad’s going to happen. I’m like, waiting for doomsday to happen. But then after two minutes I forget about it. And then I’m always pleasantly surprised.”

Likewise, she accepted that her self-diagnosed Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is one of the causes of her unease in the outside world.

“Things have to be symmetrically aligned. When I’m in the doctor’s waiting room I always straighten out their artwork on their wall. I have that disorder where when people make noises it hurts me. Like at the movies? That loud popcorn chewing or the rustling of the wrappers. I don’t go to the movies for that reason.”

Linda Evangelista has married once so far

Linda was previously married. In 1987, she tied the knot with the former head of Elite Model Management’s Paris office, Gerald Marie, at the age of 22.

However, their marriage didn’t last long and got divorced in 1993.

She then dated actor Kyle MacLachlan after getting to know him for a year. She encountered MacLachlan on a photoshoot for Barneys New York in 1992.

After two years of engagement, their relationship ended in 1998. She also dated a French football player on and off for almost four years until they officially ended their relationship in 2002.

She did not, however, reveal her child’s father’s identity at the time.

In late June 2011, Evangelista revealed her son’s father as billionaire François-Henri Pinault and filed court papers.

Francois and Linda had dated for four months in late 2005 and early 2006.

On August 1, 2011, Evangelista filed for a child support order in Manhattan Family Court, seeking $46,000 in monthly child support from Pinault.

The two ultimately settled out of court on May 7, 2012, following many days of the trial.

Reports suggest that if the court approves the paper, it could become the largest support order in family court history.
