In 1994, Detroit left Shakespeare’s Sister to focus on her solo career once again. She released several more albums, including “Tired and Emotional” and “Gray Matter.”

In addition to her solo work, Marcella Detroit also continued to write and produce for other artists, including Aretha Franklin, Belinda Carlisle, and Chaka Khan.

In 2010, Marcella Detroit reunited with Siobhan Fahey for a Shakespeare’s Sister tour, and they released a new album, “Ride Again,” in 2019.
