He played for Fort Bend Baptist Academy situated in Sugar Land, Texas. Mark was a student at the University of Texas at Arlington.

He was a talented baseball player in his college days as well. Mark had played in the position of a pitcher for the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the summer seasons of the years 2002 and 2003.

It was in the year 2006 that Mark Lowe debuted in the MLB. His first draft was by the Seattle Mariners in the fifth draft of the MLB. He started playing for the Everett Aquasox.

Later, he also played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino, and San Antonio Missions.

His major league career began in 2006. He had his first win in July of the same year against the New York Yankees. He suffered elbow injuries and was out of play for 2 months.

The next year, he signed a minor league contract with Los Angeles Dodgers. He also had spring training. He was also with Los Angeles Angels for some time.

Later, he played for Washington Nationals and Tampa Bay Rays. In 2014, he also played for Cleveland Indians and did a second stint with the Seattle Mariners.

The next year, Mark was with the Toronto Blue Jays. In the same year, he signed with Detroit Tigers for two years. He was released in 2017 and he had to struggle through his time with them.

The same year, he had his third stint with the Seattle Mariners and was later traded off to Chicago White Sox.

Mark was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2008. But later in 2009, it was found that he has type 1 diabetes and would require insulin to control of his high blood sugar level.
