A family of six! Hogwarts heiress Lady Melissa Percy and her billionaire husband Remy Trafelet have expanded their family, by welcoming their fourth child.
The couple announced the birth of their newborn, their second daughter named Ivy on January 5, 2025.
However, Baby Ivy was born on the 3rd of January in Florida.
The couple are already parents to first daughter, Bluebell Rose Trafelet, born in February 2020, and twin sons Percy Dean and Alfred Ralph, born in February 2023.
Additionally, Melissa has three step-children Remy, Charlotte, and Franny from Trafelet’s former marriage. He was married to Lara Trafelet from 2000 until their divorce in 2018.
On the other hand, the heiress of Hogwaets has also been married twice. She was first married to Princess Charlotte‘s godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee.
Their marriages lasted less than three years, ending in divorce after they separated in 2015. Notably, Princes William and Harry attended her first wedding.
Reflecting on her divorce, Lady Melissa shared with YOU magazine that although she felt it was the right decision, it was a challenging experience.
She said,
“I knew it was right, but it was a very difficult thing to go through. We were together during my 20s and I think, as a girl, you change a lot at that age. But (the separation) pushed me to act: to discover what I wanted to do, who I am and what I want from life.”
Fortunetly, she encounter her billionaire husband in 2016 and since they share a strong bond for over the years.
In 2019, the couple announced their engagement and married on December 19 at Mercer Mill Plantation in Georgia, in a private ceremony.
Who is Lady Melissa Percy?
Lady Melissa Percy is the youngest daughter of Ralph Percy, and Jane Percy, the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, respectively.
Melissa, who is known as Missy among her friends, grew up in Alnwick Castle, the ancestral home of the Percy family, which is famous for being a filming location for the Harry Potter series.
In an interview with The Times in 2018, Lady Melissa shared that she and her three siblings Lord Max Percy, Lady Catherine Percy, and George, Earl Percy, shared a room during their childhood at Alnwick Castle.
She recalled feeling intimidated by the castle’s size and condition, stating,
“We were too afraid to have our own rooms. It was quite run down and there was no central heating.”
Despite her upbringing in Northumberland, Lady Melissa has a strong affinity for America.
Her love for American culture blossomed when she left Millfield School to train as a professional tennis player in Florida.
She once told her father not to expect her to marry an Englishman or live in England because she preferred the American lifestyle.
“Don’t ever expect me to marry an Englishman, and don’t ever expect me to live in England. I much preferred the American way of life.”
Missy has a background in both professional tennis and fashion design. She is the founder of a women’s clothing brand named Mistamina.
She established the clothing brand in 2016, focusing on country living and outdoor wear for activities like riding and shooting.
