Michael Clifford is expecting his first child with his wife Crystal Leigh
Michael Clifford is expanding his family with his wife Crystal Leigh. The 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist, 27, exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE that he and his wife Crystal are expecting their first child.
He told the outlet,
“I’m filled with excitement and also with nerves, I’ve been a dog dad for a long time, so I think I’m ready for a small human to take care of and communicate with conversationally after eight years of one-sided dog convos!”
The soon-to-be mom, 33, is “over the moon” about becoming a mother for the first time. She expressed,
“Completely overflowing with joy, I have never been this happy in my entire life. I’d like to think it’s the baby’s good vibes and energy radiating through me, but it’s probably just the hormones.”
“We have friends who have had incredibly difficult pregnancies, so I was prepared for the worst. But so far, It’s actually been pretty great and I feel very fortunate and high with happiness!!”

She also gave an update on her pregnancy experience, revealing she initially had a “small complication”.
Crystal has had subchorionic hematoma which caused a lot of bleeding that really terrified them.
Thankfully, it wasn’t that risky as they consulted doctors.
She then went on to praise her husband describing him as an incredible partner and revealed she really does feel like they’re ‘pregnant’ together.
When is Crystal Leigh’s due date?
Michael Clifford took to Instagram to give more updates on their pregnancy, sharing photos of him posing with his wife Crytsal Leigh from her maternity photoshoot.
He then captioned the post,
“You’re already everything, baby Clifford,”
The baby is expected to arrive in November. In addition, he added their presumed due date of November 11, 2023.
How long have Michael Clifford and Cryatsal Leigh been dating?
Michael Clifford and Cryatsal began dating in 2016, however, they didn’t go public with their relationship until the following year.
On Leigh’s birthday, Clifford went Instagram official with their relationship posting sweet birthday wishes for his then-girlfriend.
The couple since often shared glimpses of their love life on social media handles.
After three years of dating during their Bali vacation in 2019, the musician popped the question to his now-pregnant wife at the Ungasan Clifftop Resort.
The proposal destination has a special place for the couple as it is the same place where they began dating and shared their first kiss.
Clifford announced via Instagram that he proposed to his girlfriend at the time, writing,
“I was lucky enough to ask the love love of my life to marry me in the place it all began for us, In the last 3 years she has helped evolve and shape who I am in ways I could never have imagined. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. I love loving you, Crystal.”
On January 11, 2021, the couple got married and kept it secret until the following year. In January 2022, the couple opened up about their to PEOPLE,
“We were most excited to be near our friends all together for the first time in a while due to COVID, To be officially married, even in secret, was so special for us too — officially Mr. and Mrs.”
