Luri Lapicus dies at age 27 following his motorcycle accident
MMA Fighter Luri Lapicus is no longer among us! A professional mixed martial arts fighter passed away on Monday, March 20, following his motorcycle accident in Italy.
Luri was just 27. His death was confirmed by his organization, ONE Championship, with a heartbreaking statement on Twitter. They tweeted,
“The ONE Championship team is heartbroken over the tragic passing of Iuri Lapicus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones at this difficult time”

According to Milano Today, Lapicus collided with a vehicle on March 17th in Northwest Milasn and was rushed to a hospital by helicopter shortly after the accident.
The athlete died peacefully while still in a coma.
Luri is survived by his older brother Marin Lapidus.
What was Luri Lapicus best known for?
Luri Lapicus was a Guru Bicului-born professional mixed martial artist. He was signed to ONE Championship, which is based in Singapore.
He started his judo training at the age of 9 in Moldova. When he was 15, he relocated to Italy with his parents.
Lapicus made his official MMA debut on May 3, 2014, at “Milano in the Cage 4” in Lombardy, Italy, where he used a rear-naked choke to defeat Vitor de Santana.
He had a stellar career track record after a promising debut. In May 2019, he was signed to ONE Championship where he made his debut at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” in Kallang, Singapore where he defeated Shannon Wiratchai via a rear-naked choke.
He then participated in a number of games, including “ONE: Warrior’s Code,” “ONE: Inside the Matrix,” “ONE on TNT 1,” and others.
His last fight was against Zebaztian Kadestam on Aug. 26, 2022, at “ONE on Prime Video 1” but he was defeated in Round 1 by KO.
