Her housekeeper was the one to find her dead body inside her Wellington, Fla., home.

Patty Raynes mysteriously dies at 70

Manhattan socialite Patty Raynes mysteriously died at her Wellington, Fla., on Thursday morning. It was her housekeeper who found her dead.

The cause of her death has not yet been revealed. However, family and friends of the late socialite believe that Raynes died from asthma-related problems.

Patty’s mother released a statement, saying,

“On behalf of the Davis family, we are heartbroken by the untimely passing of our dear Patty Davis Raynes. I’m devastated to share that my daughter passed away earlier today after suffering from an asthma infection. Patty left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and respect for privacy during the unimaginable time.”

Raynes was 70 at the time of her death.

An accomplished equestrian, Patty was suffering from severe asthma, and just last week she was hospitalized because she was finding it difficult to breathe.

On the day of her death, Patty was supposed to be having lunch with her friends in Palm Beach. She also had plans to fly back to New York this weekend after spending her winter in the Florida enclave. There she spent her time riding horses.

She was excited to get back to her social life in NYC before the unthinkable happened.

Her best friend Anna Rothschild informed that she and Raynes had a conversation where the latter’s last text to her read, “Coming home the 28th, let’s do so much fun stuff!”

Rothschild noted,

“She wasn’t well. We talk[ed] every day. I called her on Tuesday, Wednesday… didn’t answer, which was super unusual,”
”But she was so excited to come back. We were making plans,”

Patty lost her son Nick in 2018

Her sister, Nancy Davis, is trying to gather information on what her sister has been up to over the last month.

Alex Hamer, Raynes’s horse riding partner said that she was very normal when they attended a magazine party together on April 19. That was the last time he saw her.

He last spoke to her on Tuesday and said, “She was not feeling like herself. She said asthma had been bothering her and that she had been to the doctor.”

Talking about Raynes’s privilege, she was the eldest daughter of late oil baron Marvin Davis. Her family inspired the Carrington family on Aaron Spelling’s iconic soap Dynasty.

Patty’s last years were full of pain and tragedy. Her son, Nick died of a drug overdose in a Manhattan apartment in 2018.
