Minaj, 36 has been referring to her boyfriend Kenneth with the nickname “husband” ever since the news of her relationship became official.

While this confused some people on whether she was actually married to the 41-year-old rapper, it has now been confirmed and there’s no room for confusion anymore.

Nicki took to her Instagram to announce the exciting news on Monday. She posted a video showing matching “Mr and Mrs” mugs alongside black and white baseball caps which had “Bride” and “Groom” embroidered across the front. That confirms it, she is a married woman now!

She captioned the post,

Nicki Minaj talks about getting a marriage license and wedding plans

Last week, the 36-year-old rapper did an interview with ET’s Keltie Knight at the launch party for her new fashion line, Fendi Prints On. There, she opened up about her wedding plans and her marriage license.

She revealed that she does have plans for marriage but not a big one yet,

“We got the marriage license, now I just have to wait until my pastor that I love comes and does it for us, The big wedding and all that stuff, that will happen, but just not at this moment.”
“When I was little, I always imagined princess and marriage and the wedding and now it’s more to me about the life, the future, the love, the partnership, than the wedding. It’s so strange cause I didn’t expect myself to be one of those people who didn’t care about the hoopla, but I really don’t.”

This is the first marriage for the billboard chart-topper rapper. Last, December she officially announced her relationship with Kenneth Petty through her Instagram.

Nicki stated on an episode of her Queen Radio show that the big grand wedding will happen later for now due to her music priorities.

“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now,” she said at the time. “We’ll do the big wedding later.”

After the news of their relationship became official, many fans poured concern and criticism over Kenneth Petty’s criminal records. However, Nicki doesn’t appear to care less about the criticisms.

She even took time to clarify to commenters on Instagram, stating,

“He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”

Nicki and Petty have known each other since she was a teenager growing up in Queens.
