Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend Hugh Grosvenor’s wedding?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly won’t be attending the royal’s longtime UK friend’s wedding as tensions between the couple and the royal family are growing bigger.

The Sunday Times reported that Hugh Grosvenor, one of the godparents of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie did not send an invite to his California-based friend for his wedding to Olivia Henson in June.

A friend of the groom-to-be said, “It’s incredibly sad it has come to this,”

The insider further explained that Harry, 39, and Markle, 42, didn’t get invited to prevent any new drama between the already feuding family members.

They said,

“He wanted to avoid anything overshadowing the day, especially for Olivia and doesn’t want any awkwardness,”

“Hugh is one of very few close friends of William and Harry’s who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both. He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realizes it’s unlikely to happen before the wedding.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 41, and King Charles III, reportedly made it to the guest list of the aristocrat’s wedding.

A rep for Grosvenor told People,

“We are not in a position to comment on the guest list.”

The wedding of the Duke of Westminster will take place on June 7 at Chester Cathedral, in northwest England.

What caused tensions between Harry and Meghan and the Royal family?

While the relations between the Sussexes and the Royal Family have already been very strained since their exit from the UK, it’s gotten even worse after the release of royal reporter Omid Scobie’s new tell-all book.

The book reports that the former Suits actress reportedly wrote a letter to her father-in-law about troubling comments some family members made about the then-unborn Archie’s possible skin color,

However, the rift between the royals made global headlines when Harry and Meghan quit their senior royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the U.S.

Their relationship further strained after Harry and Meghan gave a bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. It worsened after they released their Netflix documentary in December 2022.

Not long after the documentary made global headlines, Harry published his memoir named Spare. It further damaged his ties with his father and brother.

Harry and his wife are trying to mend their relationship with the family. Charles is not willing to do that after all the damages done.

“It’s complex, but there’s increasing frustration from some of the wider circle of family members that Charles won’t just fix things for the sake of everyone,”
