He was staying at the US ambassador’s residence in Winfield House in Regent’s Park which is 3 miles from the Palace. But he used the helicopter again to come there for the state banquet.

The US President was full of good words and praise for the Queen. He also boasted that she had never had as much fun as she did with him on the day he visited her. He said:

“I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun.

“And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years. Then I got criticized for it because they said we were having too much fun.”

Queen Elizabeth II upset with Donald Trump

The Queen gave Donald Trump a royal welcome and treated and kept him in a regal way that is expected from a royal household.

But she was upset with him for having ruined her garden lawns with his choppers. The US President had insisted on flying to the palace in his helicopter and this he did two times in one day.

This caused damage to the lawn of the palace. There were craters made by the helicopters on the grass lawn and also scorch marks.

The Queen values the lawn as a treasure and is unhappy when she learns that Donald’s helicopter has left it permanently damaged. The grass, and lawns, in front of the Palace, are the main ones and form the centerpiece for the Queen’s official residence.

Here, the Queen holds many of her garden parties. She uses it to walk her dogs. Hence naturally she is extremely upset with the damage.

Queen Elizabeth II expresses her anger to Australian PM

The Australian PM, Scott Morrison had also traveled to the UK for the celebrations of D-Day. Scott met the Queen the next day. And she took him out to show him the damaged lawn and express her distress.

A source who was close to Scott and knew about this incident revealed:

“He had got off the plane and went straight to the palace to see the Queen, who led him out to the gardens and said: ‘Come and look at my lawn. It’s ruined.’”
