Open Funeral of Late actor Nelsan Ellis To The Public
As per the statement of Nelsan’s family on Friday, July 14, the funeral will be open to the public. A public viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 21, in Country Club Hills, Illinois.
According to the reports, the funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at Holy Temple Cathedral in Harvey, Illinois, Ellis’. The family gave the update about his funeral through a statement to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The talented actor came from Illinois and starred in Elementary, spending a large portion of his life. He was born in Harvey and went to Thornridge High School in Dolton.
Furthermore, for higher studies, he attended Illinois State University. Afterward, he obtained a scholarship to the Julliard School in New York, where he studied acting.
Firstly, Ellis touched the heights of fame playing Lafayette Reynolds, a fearless and outspoken gay character in HBO’s hit series True Blood. He became famous along with his talents and on-screen presentation, and his fans love his acting.
Reason behind the death of Nelsan Ellis
According to the previous reports of Us exclusive, his family verified in a statement that Ellis had suffered complexities linked to alcohol addiction recession which led to his death at the age of 39.
His family revealed the statement:
“Nelsan has suffered with drug and alcohol abuse for years. After many stints in rehab, Nelsan attempted to withdraw from alcohol on his own. According to his father, during his withdrawal from alcohol he had a blood infection, his kidneys shut down, his liver was swollen, his blood pressure plummeted, and his dear sweet heart raced out of control,”
Furthermore, they mentioned:
“Nelsan was a gentle, generous and kind soul. He was a father, a son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, and a great friend to those that were lucky enough to know him. Nelsan was ashamed of his addiction and thus was reluctant to talk about it during his life. His family, however, believes that in death he would want his life to serve as a cautionary tale in an attempt to help others.”
Talking about his family he has his son, Breon, and seven siblings: Lakeeia Thomson, Tommie Lee Thompson, Babon Ellis, Maurice Turne, Tianna Thompson, Shaentika Beard, and Yvonne Ellis.
